A new season of autonomous racing is upon us. The Indy Autonomous Challenge will be live at the Texas Motor Speedway on November 11, 2022.

The Indy Autonomous Challenge Powered By Cisco at Texas Motor Speedway will pit the best and brightest minds in the autonomous automotive research world against each other in a fully head-to-head autonomous race. This is the first time that the famous Texas Motor Speedway has ever held a race between cars that drive themselves.

Teams competing will be operating Dallara AV-21 autonomous racecars designed to push high-speed multi-agent racing to its limits, with max speeds capable of more than 190 MPH (300 KPH). The Dallara AV-21 vehicles have been upgraded with improved engines; more powerful computing, and an improved sensor stack for the new season.

The teams consist primarily of PhD engineering students from some of the leading institutions around the planet. These students are pushing the limits of computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and systems and controls algorithms that push the vehicles to their physical limits.

The Cisco STEM Zone, an activation for North Texas STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) students, will also take place at the event. More than 1,500 N. Texas STEM students will take part in exhibitions, interactive programming, and other innovative activities catered to the STEM and robotics community.
