Abrantix launches new robot to test payment terminals

Imagine being able to test multiple physical payment terminals at the same time, using a purpose-built robot of industrial quality. With Abrantix’s new Robot T4 this becomes a reality.

The Swiss payment technology expert says its latest addition to its product portfolio can check up to four terminals simultaneously.

Martin Gloor, chief product officer, says: “Thanks to our many years of experience and through conversations with our clients we know that scaling robotic testing for payment terminals is a key feature that the market needs.”

The reasoning behind this is simple: If you are a payment company, chances are that you have multiple terminal models in the field. For example, a countertop model, a mobile version and a version optimized for integrated checkout experiences.

Many of these models will stay in the market for a long time, in addition to newer terminal lines being introduced. This means that a payment company will easily have over 10 terminal models in the market that need to be tested continuously.

To test such a terminal fleet many robots or an expensive customized solution would be required. With Robot T4, Abrantix introduces a better – and scalable – solution: A purpose-built EFT/POS terminal testing robot of industrial quality, which can support up to four terminals.

Some of the features of Robot T4 are:

  • Supports any payment terminal (traditional or Android terminals, with or without touchscreen)
  • Simultaneous testing of up to 4 terminals
  • Super easy card calibration
  • Ultra-fast finger for testing
  • Able to perform gestures as interactions
  • Display for status information (that is, if the robot is online)
  • Improved setup and calibration for a quick start
  • Simple API
  • Integrated with PaytestHub for all benefits of cloud testing
  • Finding the right solution

While Robot T4 will bring many advantages and additional features, Abrantix’s Robot T1 will still be one of their flagship products. Whereas Robot T1 is a lighter-weight solution that caters for all your standard use cases, Robot T4 is perfect if you want to scale up testing on multiple terminals and take the next step in your automation journey.

Deliveries for Robot T4 will start at the beginning of 2023, but is available now for pre-order.
